Partners using Truextent® brand Acoustic Beryllium

Since 1999, Brush Wellman Electrofusion Products has been supplying pure acoustic beryllium to the majority of transducer manufacturers who utilize real beryllium in their designs.  We currently supply 100% of the Truextent® brand Acoustic Beryllium around the globe.

We recognize that occasionally a product will be advertised as containing beryllium transducers or components when, in fact, that product contains either no elemental beryllium at all or is made from alloy materials that contain only fractional amounts of beryllium (see report on fake beryllium).

As a service to the audio community, we are proud to list our Partners who are currently taking delivery of pure Truextent brand Acoustic Beryllium.  If you don’t see a manufacturer listed, please contact us to verify their status.

While other manufacturers have used Truextent® acoustic beryllium domes for years, Classic Audio Loudspeakers is proud to be the first manufacturer to benefit from the use of Truextent beryllium diaphragm assemblies.  They had been using vapor deposited beryllium diaphragms from another manufacturer, and the advanced design used in the Truextent assemblies allow them to far exceed the performance of other more primitive designs. Their three way loudspeaker systems are built with the finest components available today. These components consist of Alnico and cobalt magnets, carbon filter cones, and Truextent beryllium diaphragms with 8 and 16 ohm assemblies, resulting in the lowest distortion and lowest coloration of any horn loudspeaker system ever.

Focal, one of the worldwide leaders of high-end acoustic loudspeakers, has a 30 year reputation of manufacturing innovation. Focal’s tradition of continually improving their inverted dome tweeter to reach excellence includes experimenting with new materials, many of which are rejected as too inefficient.

In 2002, the Grande Utopia Be was the first loudspeaker in the world using a direct radiating transducer with a Truextent® Acoustic Beryllium inverted dome. It received numerous awards, in particular thanks to this prodigious tweeter. Since then, this technology has spread to many other successful Focal products.

Creating the best tweeter in the world was not the result of luck. It had to be rigid, light, and have high damping. They found that the Truextent acoustic beryllium had better mechanical benefits than other solutions, such as PVD coated substrates or beryllium alloys.

DC GOLD AUDIO speakers are all single voice-coil, single cone, full-range speakers. Every part that goes into the speaker  plays a critical role in the final sound of our speakers. All of our speakers are hand assembled in the USA with quality components for durability in all environments including saltwater and UV exposure. Our speakers use neodymium magnets and aluminum alloy cones with a proprietary coating. They boast a Ø1.5” voice-coil and ferro-fluid cooling for the best sound quality and power handling. We chose Brush Wellman’s Truextent pure beryllium for the dust-cap of our Reference Line. Since every batch of material is QC'd with a print-out of what we are receiving, we can be assured our customers are getting not only the best sound, but a product "as advertised." The beryllium used in the Reference speakers enhance the smoothness and detail of sound in unbelievable ways. The Reference is for the connoisseur, where music is not the background, but the main event.
