Manufacturing Service

Our primary business is manufacturing products from beryllium.  In order to do that, we use specialized equipment, such as electron beam welders, vacuum furnaces, and waterjet cutters.  In addition to using this equipment for the manufacture of beryllium products, we also use this equipment as a service provider to the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.

Electron Beam Welding

Electron beam welding is a process that uses a stream of electrons to heat metal in a very small area, allowing it to weld together without a large heat affected zone and without as much distortion as traditional welding techniques.  The welding is done in a vacuum, significantly reducing contamination and oxidation, resulting in a very clean and consistent weld.

Vacuum Furnace Brazing

Brazing parts in a vacuum furnace can be done without the use of flux, resulting in a much cleaner joint than atmospheric brazing.  Using the vacuum furnace, we also offer services like heat treating, vacuum annealing, and outgassing.

Waterjet cutting

Waterjet cutting operates on the principle of using a granular abrasive medium contained in a high pressure water stream to accomplish its cutting.  Waterjet cutting is considerably faster than wire EDM, and can handle thicker material than most lasers.  The waterjet cuts in any x-y direction, making a wide variety of part geometries possible.
